Xiao-Dong Wang
Violinist Xiao-Dong Wang entered the Shanghai Conservatory of Music at the age of ten. Mr. Wang was First Prize winner in the Menuhin International Violin Competition and First Prize winner in the Wieniawski-Lipinski International Violin Competition at the ages of thirteen and fifteen respectively.
A guest soloist of considerable experience, Mr. Wang has performed with orchestras around the world, including the Royal Philharmonic in London, the London Mozart Players, Adelaide, Perth, Queensland Symphony Orchestras, Sydney Opera Orchestra.
Mr. Wang is serving as artistic director of the chamber ensemble Concertante starting the 2011–2012 season.
Cellist Susannah Chapman is well-established as a chamber musician, soloist, contemporary music interpreter, and performer in leading cham-ber orchestras. The principal cellist of the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, she is a former member of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and currently performs regularly with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
Ms. Chapman performs with the Bang-on-a-Can All-Stars, the cello quartet "Cello", and is a member of Cygnus, a contemporary music sex-tet with its own series at Merkin Hall, and residencies at both Sarah Lawrence College and City University of New York.
Ms. Chapman is a founding member of the string trio Trigon and spent several summers at the Marlboro Music Festival. She holds a Doctorate of Music from SUNY Stony Brook, and is the cello instructor at Sarah Lawrence College.
