Danielle Farina - Viola

Ms. Farina is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where she was the recipient of the Grand Prize, First Prize, and prize for the most beautiful sound at the 1996 American String Teacher's Association Competition.  

Currently the violist of the Elements Quartet, she has toured extensively with the Lark Quartet.  

Among her many accomplishments, she has served as principal violist of the Brooklyn Philharmonic and played with the Mark Morris Dance Group, Silk Road Project, and Mosaic. She recently premiered Peter Schickele's Viola Concerto with the Pasadena Symphony as well as his Mountain Music II for viola and piano. She is on the faculty of the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division.
Cellist Susannah Chapman is well-established as a chamber musician, soloist, contemporary music interpreter, and performer in leading cham-ber orchestras. The principal cellist of the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, she is a former member of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and currently performs regularly with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.

 Ms. Chapman performs with the Bang-on-a-Can All-Stars, the cello quartet "Cello", and is a member of Cygnus, a contemporary music sex-tet with its own series at Merkin Hall, and residencies at both Sarah Lawrence College and City University of New York. 

Ms. Chapman is a founding member of the string trio Trigon and spent several summers at the Marlboro Music Festival. She holds a Doctorate of Music from SUNY Stony Brook, and is the cello instructor at Sarah Lawrence College.
